Boarding Policy

FIRST TIME CLIENTS

  • We do not require an evaluation for boarding because the dogs we have in our care vary on any given day. As a small facility with personal attention for each dog, we will determine on a daily basis who we believe your dog can play with. We base this on a number of factors, including size, age, play style and more.

  • If your dog isn’t friendly with other dogs, there’s no need to worry! They will still get lots of outdoor playtime with our staff. We do not breed restrict and will take any dog (even those who are “in-tact”) as long as they are not aggressive towards people.

BOARDING CHECK-IN

 DEPARTURE

  • Please make sure to indicate your estimated time of departure on your boarding drop-off form, so that all services (including grooming services) can be completed and your pet’s belongings prepared before departure.

  • Our check-out time is 1:00 pm. There is no charge for the day of departure if you pick your pet up by 1:00 pm. If you pick your pet up after 1:00 pm but during normal business hours, you will be charged our “Late Check-Out Fee” of $20 per dog and $10 per cat.

  • After-hours departure, anything outside of our normal business hours, can be arranged with prior notice. There is a $50 fee for this service. Dogs who are not picked up by 6:00 pm will be boarded for another night at their current nightly rate.

  • Payment for all services is required at the time of departure. You are welcome to leave a card on file for quick and easy check-out.

RESERVATIONS

  • All boarding stays are by reservation only.  Walk ins are welcome but have to follow our policy and may be refused service if we do not have any rooms available.  A 50% deposit is required when booking your boarding reservation. Boarding stays lasting longer than 7 days will be required to pre pay 100% of reservation before or at check in.

BOARDING CANCELLATIONS

  • Boarding reservations may be cancelled at any time, however deposits are refundable only if you cancel at least 7 days before your scheduled arrival date, unless we’re able to re-book the reservation.

HOLIDAYS & DEPOSITS

  • Our lobby is closed on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

  • A 50% per pet deposit is required to book any stay that includes one of these holidays. The deposit is fully refundable if the reservation is cancelled more than 7 days before the start of your reservation.

  • While we are always fully staffed for our pet guests, our lobby and reception area are closed to the public on these holidays. Drop-off and pick-up can be arranged on holidays. The $50 after-hours fee applies.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Please ensure that your dog is wearing a quick release collar. If you don’t have one, in most cases, we’ll have one for your dog to borrow.  If possible, please bring your dog’s food, pre-packaged in disposable bags, correctly portioned for each meal. Label meals if there are any differences in the meals. We can accommodate wet, dry, and refrigerated foods.

  • Bring any medications, vitamins, or supplements, in the original bottle if at all possible. We’re able to give oral and topical medications only. There is no charge for dispensing medications. You are welcome to bring a few of your pet’s toys and treats from home. We do ask that you limit the toy count to two per visit and that you not bring anything that will be heartbreaking if it gets misplaced. An old t-shirt that smells like home that no one will miss is a great idea! We ask that you make sure they are toys and treats that your pet can have completely unsupervised. We recommend against things like rawhides, bully sticks, and tennis balls that may pose a choking hazard, particularly when unsupervised. We ask that you leave all bedding at home. We provide raised Kuranda beds to all dogs in our care. Both dogs and cats will also be provided with comfortable bedding. ALL bedding is washed and sanitized in our commercial, hospital-grade washing machines daily. Any questions, just ask!

We are not responsible for lost or damaged items.

VACCINATIONS / HEALTH REQUIREMENTS

  • Good general health without signs of active illness including sneezing, coughing, gagging, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, lethargy, etc. Any dog that begins exhibiting these symptoms while in our care will be immediately transferred to our isolated boarding area and kept away from other dogs until their pet parent can take them home. Isolated pets will still receive full services, just like any other boarding pet, but they will be housed and walked in an area of our facility away from other pets.

  • We do accept older pets for boarding with prior authorization and provided they meet our physical requirements, including being able to walk and stand unassisted, and eat and drink unassisted.

  • We accept altered/neutered/spayed and unaltered/intact male and female dogs and cats for boarding services. Please see daycare policies for guidelines on intact dogs in group play.

  • We cannot accommodate FIV-positive cats or diabetic pets, or pets requiring fluids or medical injections of any kind.

  • We do ask that you provide us with proof of a valid and completed series of vaccinations, as well as a negative fecal/intestinal parasite test completed within the last 12 months, provided to us either in person or via e-mail (thepetstation1@yahoo.com) prior to arrival for boarding. We will accept records from any licensed veterinarian. (Recommended but not Required)

  • Dogs are recommended to be current on Rabies, DHLPP, & Bordetella vaccines.

  • Cats are recommended to be current on Rabies, Bordetella, & Distemper vaccines.

  • Negative fecal/intestinal parasite test within the last 12 months is recommended for both dogs and cats.

  • We require that all boarded pets be treated regularly with flea, tick, and parasite prevention, as recommended by your pet’s veterinarian. If your pet arrives with fleas, we will ask if you would like for us to treat the pet with either a flea bath or Capstar (a flea prevention that lasts 24 hours), at the expense of the pet owner.  If treatment is declined, the reservation will be cancelled and your deposit will not be refunded.

All vaccinations/doctor notes MUST be received no less than 48 hours prior to your dog coming in for the first time. Failure to do so may result in your boarding reservation being cancelled. Your deposit will not be refunded.

Vaccine records may be dropped off in person or emailed to us at thepetstation1@yahoo.com.
